The Model 815 measures the peak x-ray accelerating voltage from tungsten x-ray generators. To measure peak kV (kVp), place the instrument in the beam, colimate to target on top of the instrument and take an x-ray. The instrument will display kVp. To get the the exposure time, press the white button. The Model 815 will display the x-ray type and exposure time.

There is a high resolution mode which is used for measurements on older x-rays and x-rays with slow rise times.

The kVp Meter has a large display which is readable from outside the x-ray room.

The Model 815 is battery operated, user-friendly, and has a two year warranty. Applications include verification of peak x-ray voltage, constancy checks, calibration of x-rays, and quality assurance measurement of exposure time. The unit is also used for half value layer determination, troubleshooting and repair of x-rays, and quality control.

The kVp Meter has CE Compliance. All units come with a Certificate of Compliance.

The new 820 kVp / mAs Meter combines all the features of our Model 815 kVp Meter, and adds the mA and mAs measurement function in one compact unit. The 820 is capable of measuring kVp, mA, mAs, and exposure time. The unit is self resetting, and automatically detects AC or DC x-ray currents, minimizing the possibility of inaccurate readings. With each mA reading, the unit stores and displays mA, mAs and exposure time. mA is sampled for a representative length of time and saved. This allows shorter exposure times minimizing xray exposure and wear and tear on the x-ray head. The Model 820 contains exactly the same kVp measurement circuit and capability as our Model 815. The mA / mAs function has been squeezed into the unit. The Model 820 is battery operated, user-friendly, and has a two year warranty. Applications include verification of peak x-ray voltage, constancy checks, calibration of x-rays, and quality assurance measurement of exposure time. The unit is also used for half value layer determination, troubleshooting and repair of x-rays, and quality control.

The cable supplied with the unit serves as a switch. When the cable is plugged into the unit, it is automatically configured for mA readings. When the cable is unplugged the Model 820 functions as a kVp meter.

The kVp Meter has CE Compliance. All units come with a Certificate of Compliance.

The introduction of the Model 820 allows service personnel to carry one instrument rather than an mAs Meter and a kVp Meter.

The ECC Model 870 mA Meter / mAs/ exposure time meter is specifically designed to measure x-ray tube current. The ECC Model 870 is a solid-state, digital instrument designed specifically for service personnel in assessing the performance of radiation generators. This instrument measures and displays mA, mAs and exposure time for each x-ray exposure. The instrument is used for dental x-ray units, radiographic and fluoroscopic x-ray. The operator switches from 2A to 200 mA amp operation simply by switching the switch from left to right.

When a measurement is being made, the Model 870 has the capability of automatically determining the type of x-ray that is being measured. It is not necessary for the user to program correction factors for different types of x-ray waveforms.

The Model 870 automatically resets at the beginning of each exposure, holding the reading until the next exposure. There is no need to reset the meter before each measurement.

This is a new state of the art instrument with many advanced features. For example, when taking ma / mAs readings, the mA reading is stored and displayed. It is not necessary to have exposure times long enough to display a reading. This minimizes unnecessary exposure to test personnel and minimizes heating as well as wear and tear on the x-ray tube. The Model 870 will display mA, mAs and exposure time for each x-ray exposure further minimizing the number of x-ray exposures.

The most convenient way of using the 870 for mA, mAs and exposure time measurements is to plug leds into front of unit and attach the other end, which is designed to be connected in the ground return line of the high voltage transformer and must be in the actual current path of the x-ray tube. Step back, take the exposure and then observe the reading. Refer to the section on Operation for information on how to obtain the most accurate measurements.

Model 8700The Model 8700 X-Ray Pulse Counter/ Exposure Time Meter is used to measure the time or duration of radiation output produced by a wide variety of x-ray generators. The x-ray sensor in the 8700 allows direct measurement of exposure from the x-ray head. Pulses produced by half-wave and full-wave x-ray are measured as 60 or 120 pulses per second. For DC, capacitor discharge and 3-phase x-ray, the 8700 measures the exposure time in milliseconds.

When testing x-ray timers and controls, the time of relay contact can be measured using the AC input feature.

The Model 8700 is "self-resetting". There is no need to reset the instrument after each reading. The reading is stored after each exposure, holding until the next exposure.

The ECC Model 890 Dose Meter / Exposure Time Meter is specifically designed to measure x-ray dose. The instrument is used to measure the effective dose produced by diagnostic x-ray generators. The ECC Model 890 is a solid-state, digital instrument designed specifically for service personnel in assessing the performance of radiation generators and the effective dose delivered by the x-ray generator under specific test conditions. This instrument measures the amount of x-ray radiation delivered to a specific area and measures the length of an exposure. The Model 890 can be used for dental x-ray units, radiographic and fluoroscopic x-rays.

The Model 890 automatically resets at the beginning of each exposure, holding the reading until the next exposure. There is no need to reset the meter before each measurement.

The Model 890 is a small hand held battery operated unit. Each x-ray exposure is displayed on a 2x12 digit liquid crystal display (LCD). The operator can select between English (mR) and SI (uGy) units.

Radiation is detected by a solid state detector and electronic circuit. The instrument works for half-wave, full-wave, multiphase or DC (constant potential) x-ray generators. When a measurement is being made, the Model 890 has the capability of automatically determining the type of x-ray that is being measured.
